DELETING such files is an IMPORTANT step because changing your settings alone will not fix 'mojibake' (garbled text). Download the file once again with the new language / system locale settings.Īfter you have changed the system locale settings to "Japanese (Japan)", make sure that you delete any previously downloaded product data from your PC.Delete the downloaded file from your PC before you configure the language settings. Please note that if you encountered an error with a particular file, you need to do the following in addition to the language settings: The installation simply adds the language capability to your computer, and the system local setting allows for non-Unicode compatible games in that language to run without problem.Īccording to your OS, complete the change to Regional and Language Options (further details for each OS provided below.) … with-nvda/ Also, Locale Emulator seems to be working for all the games in Japanese so I think we've found a solution for playing them with an English system locale.First, rest assured that installation of the Japanese language and changing your system locale settings to Japanese (Japan) does not change your PC's system language completely the display language of your operating system will remain the current language you have. It's a github page, so the link to the addon might be hard to find. I'd highly recommend trying it if you play Japanese games and understand some Japanese, but still need translation. It works just like Pro Talker English, accept it's compatible with 2023.2 and lets you choose other voices to use. You'll see more than just The Blank Game 3, thanks to the Universal Multilingual Addon. I'd say I should back it up in multiple places, as this particular NVDA addon makes it much easier to play games made in Text Game Maker including the games I'm making. This time if I can find it, I'm gunna put it on an external hard drive so it won't get deleted unless the physical drive gets stolen or something. I already tried contacting Dropbox and explained what had happened, they said to look in "deleted files." I was able to restore some things, but none of them was the addon package. I had the addon package backed up on Dropbox, but do to some problems I had with them it seems like the file is no longer in the public folder. It's fine if the version is incompatible, that's easily fixed through manifest.ini. nvda-addon file, not the contents of a folder. Hopefully this is the last time I'll have to ask about this as I've asked in other topics, but does anyone have the Japanese Game Fix addon in its. Maybe this is because I don't have the actual addon package and only what I remember from the folder. I put the contents of the Japanese Game Fix folder into: C:\Users\(username)\app data\Roming\nvda\addons\Japanese Game Fix, but when I look in the Addon Store it doesn't say the addon is installed, incompatible or disabled. Do I have to go to the context menu and choose run in Japanese when focused on play.exe every time? Also this is slightly off topic, but I'm having a problem with the Japanese Game Fix addon for NVDA. This only happens if I don't use Locale Emulator, but that's normal. So, how can I run the games now that I have them installed? If I press enter on play.exe, it says startup failed. I've heard people mention creating profiles or shortcuts for Locale Emulator in other topics. I installed Locale Emulator and found an option called "Run in Japanese", which seems to allow the installers to work. The problem is, how do I use Locale Emulator to play the Japanese games? It doesn't explain how to do it in the guide for playing Japanese games in the articles room. I decided to set my system locale to English so I could play some of the games that Windows wouldn't work with if I had it in another language.
